Emmitt DeWater

Emmitt DeWater is a rising blues rock guitarist and bandleader from Omaha, Nebraska. At just 13 years old, he’s already shared stages and studio sessions with seasoned pros—Orphan Jon & the Abandoned, Kris Lager, Nick Schnebelen, Gabe Stillman, and the Sunset Sinners—earning a reputation well beyond his years for tone, touch, and sheer passion.

In 2022, he first stepped into the spotlight as the lead guitarist in the Omaha Community Playhouse’s production of School of Rock. By 2023, he was holding down lead guitar duties with Blackbird Rock Co. and the Us and Them Blues Band, cutting his teeth on everything from searing solos to deep pocket rhythm.

In 2024, Emmitt launched the Emmitt DeWater Band, backed by Midwest heavyweights Aaron Underwood on bass and T-Roy Tayrien on drums. Together, they bring a powerful blend of blues grit and rock swagger to every stage they hit.

That same year, Emmitt began recording his debut album with Grammy-winning producer Paul Nelson. After Paul’s unexpected passing, the project was taken up by Nick Schnebelen, with sessions continuing at Weights and Measures Studio in Kansas City. The album—a collection of all-original blues rock tunes—captures Emmitt’s raw energy and unmistakable voice on the guitar. His first single is slated for release soon, with the full record dropping in the coming year.

Emmitt DeWater is part of the next wave in American roots music—a young artist with an old soul and a fire that’s only getting started.
